Friday Five: Essential Lipsticks

essential lipsticksHappy Friday! Today I’m sharing with you my top five favorite lipsticks. I am very brand loyal when it comes to my makeup, so I use one of these almost every day. As you can see, I tend to gravitate to the more matte-looking colors; I’ve just never been a fan of the super shiny lip look on myself. I find that matte colors look more chic and can create more of a bold impact.

Everyday colors:

Mac Satin Lipstick in “Brave”

Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lip Color in “Lust for Blush”

L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Lipcolor in “Sugar Plum”

Statement colors:

Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lip Color in “Divine Wine”

Mac Satin Lipstick in “Rebel”

Friday Five: Belts

Happy Friday! I’m currently on a mini road trip for a quick weekend getaway! Head on over to my Snapchat @tracie.mariep to see where I’m headed this time.

Today, I’m sharing with you my new favorite accessory: the belt. I have never been a belt person until I bought a fun snake print belt for Asos and I wore it in this post and fell in love with it. I’ve been currently having a lot of fun trying out new belts and seeing how they can change up an outfit. Here are my top five belt picks:

Asos Leather Western Tip Belt

Reclaimed Western Star Studded BeltĀ

Topshop Double Western Belt

Reclaimed Vintage Leather Snake Belt

Ada Collection for Free People Ornate Buckle Belt

Have a great weekend!

Friday Five: Perfume

I love perfume. I love how decadent it can be on your skin. I think it’s important to take those extra 15 seconds a day to pamper yourself a little. Plus, you’ll smell great! Today, I’m sharing with you my top five favorite perfumes. I love wearing a different scent every day; it’s fun to mix it up!  I know that perfume can tend to be a little pricey, which is why I sometimes buy the travel roller ball instead of a full bottle. Then you can try out the scent for an extended period of time without spending $100 on something you might grow tired of. I’m personally partial to light feminine scents that are not too overpowering. Keep reading to see what my go-to perfumes are!

Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede: soft jasmine, rose, apple, and gillyflower; the ultimate scent if you’re feeling girly
Commodity Gold: a light lush scent of amber, vanilla, and sandalwood; wear this when you’re feeling expensive and exquisite
Replica Sunday Morning: a floral scent with notes of lily of the valley, pear, iris, and white musk; a lovely casual scent for a weekend getaway
Hanae Mori Butterfly: a feminine light powder scent of strawberries, jasmine, almond, and praline; the perfect pick me up when you want to feel pampered
Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee: my personal favorite blend of vanilla, jasmine, oakmoss, and amber; this is the perfume I wear the most!

Friday Five: This is Halloween

Halloween is only about a week away! Have you decided what you’re dressing up as yet? I always try to be comfortable and classy every year, because let’s face it; no one has fun in ten-inch heels and a tiny dress. Today, I’m sharing with you my top five costume picks for this year…

1. Catwoman

Holy Halloween Costume, Batman! To get this look, wear a black jumpsuit with a gold belt, necklace, and black cat ears. The ultimate accessory? A black cat.

2.  Mary Poppins

I love Lauren Conrad’s DIY version of this costume; it’s so cute! Just add a spoonful of sugar and you’ll be flying in the skies with your magic umbrella.

3. Holly Golightly

I love the classic black dress version of this costume. But you can always mix it up and be Holly when she just rolled out of bed in that tuxedo shirt and fringe ear plugs!

4. Cher from Clueless

Feel free to yell “AS IF!” every 30 seconds or so. You can totally DIY this costume, but if you’re feeling lazy you can just purchase it from here.

5. Flapper

Okay yes, you can always be a flapper. It’s funny, because every year I have considered being a flapper but I just never do it! Make sure you go all out with hair and makeup but stay away from the cheapy-purple fringe dresses. Then go party at Gatsby’s.

What are you being for Halloween this year?
