Patches have been so in this season (see previous post here), and yes you can spend hundreds of dollars on a jacket with patches already on it, or you can have some fun and create your own unique piece. All you need is a denim jacket (I found mine at a thrift store for like $10), some patches, and a little bit of sewing. Yes you can buy iron-on patches, but the patches will look better and stay on longer if you hand sew them as well as iron them on.

For patches, I searched Amazon, Etsy, and Ebay. Etsy honestly has such a huge variety of patches (like my Edith Head and Marie Antoinette patches) that you can spend hours looking through all of them. You also might be able to find some patches at your local trendy thrift store.

For my patched denim jacket, I was inspired by my own loves in life; from animals to history to reading Nancy Drew books. This jacket is tailored to me and my personality.  So what are you waiting for? Grab a jacket and some patches and create your own!
