Friday Five: French Beauty Products

Bonjour! Part of the fun in being in a whole other country is getting to see what kind of different products they use. So my roommate Megan and I have been doing a sort of Pharmacy Treasure Hunt to see what cool French beauty products we can find! All of the items listed below were between 5 and 15 euros, but since I had to link the items online they are super expensive! But if you are ever in Europe you should definitely make sure to check these out!

1. Avene Cold Creme lip cream:
This looks perfect under a lipstick and fills in all fine lines, and there is no need to blot. It feels almost like a lotion for your lips, and is very soothing and smoothing. It smells slightly powdery and is the perfect size to fit in your purse or makeup bag!

2. Klorane Gel Douche Surgras (shower gel):
These come in so many different scents! They scents are very light and the red one pictured here smells fruity almost like mango applesauce! But my personal favorite was the green bottle which smells earthy and almost like a man’s cologne. After showering it leaves a slight scent that’s not overpowering and the packaging is super cute.

3. Caudalie Hand and Nail Cream:
This is the best thing ever. I’ve already bought two bottles of this and I might even buy more so I’m not faced with withdrawal when I go home. My skin has been so dry during this trip (especially my cuticles) but this has made my hands so soft! The lotion is not oily at all and you even can’t feel it after you apply it. It’s also the perfect travel size (2.5 oz size) and has a light citrusy smell to it.

4.  Klorane Dry Shampoo with oat milk:
Literally a life saver. My hair has been so oily here in Paris and I was so sad that I had forgotten my dry shampoo at home! Thankfully I found this. You spray it at your roots and let it sit in your hair for about two minutes and then you brush it through. It instantly made my hair look fresh and like I had just washed it.

5. Topicrem les Essentiels body lotion:
I found this lotion to be very oily but lightweight and not too thick. I use it mostly on my legs before I go to sleep because it makes my skin kind of shiny and I’m not a big fan of how oily it is. I don’t think I would use it as hand lotion but it’s worked just fine on my legs.

Have you found any cool beauty products during your travels? Let me know in the comments below!
