Paris Snapshots: Week One

Bonjour! As I am typing this I’m sitting in my little apartment in the Latin Quarter…in Paris! I thought I would keep you all up to date on my month-long adventure and share with you some of the amazing things I’ve got to do in my first week…
Voila! Hello gorgeous. The Eiffel Tower was honestly a lot bigger than I expected it to be. It’s crazy when you’ve spent years looking at picture after picture of something and then all of sudden it’s standing right in front of you. I can’t wait to go back soon (hopefully at night!) so I can take some more pictures and explore the area around it.
The adorable carousel that’s right across the street from the tower.
I was fortunate enough to get to see the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe all in one day! I am hoping to return to it and maybe even go to the top! I’ve heard that that’s the best place to see all of Paris and get a great view of the tower.
The Galleries Lafayette is this huge seven floor department store complete with a cafeteria, Starbucks, and macaroon shop. Even if you’re not in the shopping mood, you should go just so you can see the gorgeous stained glass ceiling.

The Love Lock Bridge. So happy they haven’t taken too many locks off of this! I was afraid they would all be gone. It was so sweet because while we were walking by this gorgeous couple was having their wedding pictures taken in front of the bridge!

“The bells of Notre Dame!” I seriously had the entire The Hunchback of Notre Dame soundtrack stuck in my head when we visited the church our first night. I would love to go back during the day and take a tour inside.

Peach sorbet!

“He’s there, the phantom of the opera!” I grew up being obsessed with The Phantom of the Opera musical by Andrew Llyod Webber, so it was breathtaking to get to see this in person. I’ve heard the inside of the opera house is even more gorgeous than the outside, so I’m hoping to go back soon to take a peek.
My very first French crepe! It was called the St. Vincent and it had bananas, chocolate, and almonds on it. It was perfect.

This is the absolutely gorgeous view from my bedroom window in my apartment. This definitely helps make up for no air conditioning (with temperature highs of 100 degrees daily) and having to share a bathroom with three other girls. But c’est la vie!
À bientôt!

Xx Tracie
