Spring Break Essentials

Spring Break Essentials

I am officially ready for spring break. I’ll be turning 21 in less than two weeks and then I’ll be jetting off for the perfect birthday vacation (stay tuned to my Snapchat @tracie.mariep to see where I’m headed!). That being said, I’m starting to look at what to pack! From sunglasses to swimsuits to sandals, there’s a lot to remember to bring. But the most important thing to remember is your skincare! Hot temperatures and dry air makes for some unhappy skin that can put a damper on your vacation vibes. Here are some of my spring break essentials for skin care: Continue Reading

Friday Five: Perfume

I love perfume. I love how decadent it can be on your skin. I think it’s important to take those extra 15 seconds a day to pamper yourself a little. Plus, you’ll smell great! Today, I’m sharing with you my top five favorite perfumes. I love wearing a different scent every day; it’s fun to mix it up!  I know that perfume can tend to be a little pricey, which is why I sometimes buy the travel roller ball instead of a full bottle. Then you can try out the scent for an extended period of time without spending $100 on something you might grow tired of. I’m personally partial to light feminine scents that are not too overpowering. Keep reading to see what my go-to perfumes are!

Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede: soft jasmine, rose, apple, and gillyflower; the ultimate scent if you’re feeling girly
Commodity Gold: a light lush scent of amber, vanilla, and sandalwood; wear this when you’re feeling expensive and exquisite
Replica Sunday Morning: a floral scent with notes of lily of the valley, pear, iris, and white musk; a lovely casual scent for a weekend getaway
Hanae Mori Butterfly: a feminine light powder scent of strawberries, jasmine, almond, and praline; the perfect pick me up when you want to feel pampered
Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee: my personal favorite blend of vanilla, jasmine, oakmoss, and amber; this is the perfume I wear the most!

Let’s Chat: Lindi Skin Care

I am all for trying out new skin care products, and since one of my new year’s resolutions is to take better care of my skin, I was more than happy to try out some Lindi Skin. Today I am talking about my review of the Face Wash, Face Serum, and Eye Hydrator.
The Face Wash did well to hydrate my skin, but it did not leave me with that “clean feeling” I usually get from the face wash products and cleansers that I usually use. The product has a nice consistency, but I think I prefer my usual face wash and cleanser. I found the Face Serum to be hydrating, but it did take a long time to absorb into my skin. I applied it after using the Face Wash in the evening.
I think that the Eye Hydrator was my favorite Lindi product. It’s consistency was a lot like that of honey, and I mostly used it at night. I tried using it in the morning but it didn’t absorb into my skin very well so it was harder to put makeup on after using it. After using it for over a week I didn’t notice any difference in the skin tone under my eyes, which has always been a problem area for me. It did its job by hydrating around my eyes, but it did not correct any of my dark circles.
Overall, I wasn’t very fond of the lemon citrus smell of any of the products I reviewed. The majority of these products also come in lavender scent, which I think I would have preferred.
I’m all for skin care products made with great healthy ingredients that are good for your skin, so you can try out Lindi Skin for yourself and let me know what you think! Use code BLOG25 at lindiskin.com to get 25% off your purchase and get free shipping!

Festive Friday // Holiday Beauty

Happy Festive Friday! Today I am a starting a new weekly special on Tracie Marie Please where I’ll share some holiday inspiration, whether that’s decor, fashion, or like today; beauty! The holidays are truly my favorite time of the year and I can’t wait to share it with all of you! So let’s get to it…
The holidays are a great time to be bold and pump up your beauty look a bit. I just purchased OPI’s “In a Holidaze” this year and it is the perfect festive red nail color.  Another great red beauty item is Maybelline’s Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lip Color in Rich Ruby. This lipstick is the perfect lip color for any holiday party. During the winter I always like to make sure my skin looks dewy and glowy, and I’ve been able to do that with the help of Maybelline’s Master Hi-Light in 10 Nude. It gives me the perfect natural glow.
And if you’re feeling extra festive, you can’t go wrong with Bath and Body Works signature Vanilla Bean Noel body wash. I have been buying this year after year, and it has become a tradition with my family to always do some Christmas shopping at Bath and Body Works!
Last but certainly not least, the perfect holiday scent. I am a huge perfume addict and Sephora sample lover (as you all know) so I am always trying out new perfumes and finding new favorites. I just received a sample of Atelier Cologne in Vanille Insensee, and the notes of soft vanilla and light jasmine are like a sugar plum dream! The smell honestly reminds me of watching snow fall while you’re inside reading a good book and sipping a cup of coffee. I will most definitely be asking Santa for a full size bottle of this perfume for Christmas.
What are some of your holiday beauty favorites?

Friday Five: Fall Nail Polish Picks

Happy first Friday of September! I can’t believe that summer has already come and gone, but I am so ready for fall! One of my favorite parts of fall is the color palette; burgundy, deep navy, and light grey. I love not only incorporating these colors into my wardrobe, but also into my beauty routine! So for today, I thought I would share my top fall nail polish picks.
1. Essie Bahama Mama
A great merlot color that totally fits in with my fall trends post I did last Friday. I’m wearing this on my nails right now as I type this!
2. OPI Malaga Wine
Another great burgundy color for fall.
3. Formula X for Sephora Grey and Essie Petal Pusher
I’ve been on the hunt for a great grey-toned nail polish for a while now, and these two are perfect.
4. Essie Style Cartel
I love a deep navy for fall, it’s a chic twist on the typical edgy black nail.
5. Essie Topless & Barefoot
You can never go wrong with a good neutral nail polish, and this one from Essie has more of a pink tone to it, which I love.

What’s your fall beauty picks?

Let’s Chat: Irresistible Me Diamond Professional Styling Iron

I am very low maintenance when it comes to my hair. I’m not the kind of girl who wakes up a whole hour early in the morning just so she can curl or straighten her hair. Luckily, I have been blessed with natural straight hair–for the most part anyways. I still have those mornings where my ends are all wavy and weird and refuse to just lie flat! That’s where my trusty hair straightener comes in!
I just got the Irresistible Me Diamond Professional Styling Iron when I came home from Paris and it did the job! The iron was super easy to use and it only took about 5 minutes overall to straighten my hair. My hair stayed stick-straight for the majority of the day without me using a whole bunch of other hair products. The iron features three different heat settings depending on the thickness of your hair (I used the middle one since my hair has an average thickness) and it only took about 30 seconds to heat up. My hair felt super soft afterward and it didn’t feel extremely hot or fried after using the iron. Here’s a pic of what my hair looked like a little later in the day after using the straightener:
This styling iron ended up working perfectly because it didn’t take too much time to use and it kept my hair looking shiny and straight all day! You can purchase your own here
