These blue suede sandals are going to be walking me through summer days all through August! I have never been much of a sandal person, but I can honestly say that when I saw Brittany of Thrifts and Threads first wearing these sandals, I knew I wanted them. After eyeing them online for what seemed like months, I finally caved and got them. And I’m so happy I did. I love how unique these sandals are; I don’t think I’ve seen a suede pair like these that are this color. They’re also surprisingly comfortable and easy to walk in too!

P.S: These blue suede sandal babes are currently on sale! You’re welcome.

Now you guys know me, when it comes to accessories I tend to stick with minimal classic pieces. If I am going to wear a statement accessory, it’s going to be on my feet. Enter my newest shoe obsession; tassel sandals. I originally found this pair from Asos after the Zoe Report featured them. I love how simple they are and how they add a pop of fun summer color to my look. I will definitely be taking them with me this summer while I’m living in New York City.

Here are some other great tassel sandals:

Are you going to be trying out tassel sandals this summer?!

A breezy white blouse is perfect for back to school season. I’m sure you’ll catch me running around campus wearing it. Dress it up like I did with some nude heels or edge it up with leather pants and some black boots!

Enjoy this last day of August!

Pretty Little Girl

H&M shirt dress (similar here and here) | Mia Coty Boot
As we are transitioning more and more into fall, I’ve been having so much fun pairing fall staples with summer outfits. It’s no secret that I’ve been living in shirt dresses all summer long, so I paired them with these gorgeous suede fringe Mia booties. They look western-chic paired with dresses and when it’s finally cold weather time they’ll be perfect with skinny jeans and a blanket scarf.

Renegades

Zara shift dress (similar here and here) | Zara gladiator sandals (similar)
Okay so on one hand this outfit looks like I should be in the cast of Jesus Christ Superstar, but I also feel it has a super chill boho vibe. It’s summer; some days it’s just hot and you don’t feel like wearing clothes. So you can throw on this easy breezy comfortable dress. It looks great with sandals, and the fringe tassels spice up this basic tunic.

Friday Five: Guilty Pleasures

Happy Friday! Today I’m mainly talking about two very important things: shoes and cookies. You know you love them! But sadly, my wallet and my healthy diet does not. Whatever! Life is too short to not buy the shoes and to not eat that second delicious chocolate chip cookie. “Treat yo’ self!”

1. Shoes. My parents say I have too many, but I don’t think I’ll ever have enough. Boots, flats, over-the-knee shoes, pumps, stilettos; I love them all. My dream is to get married in the Manolo Blahnik blue pumps that Carrie Bradshaw wore for her own big day in the Sex and the City movie. My other smaller dream is to have a gorgeous walk in closet with a huge wall shelf full of my beautiful shoes.

2. Cheryl’s. Guys. Cookies. Do I really need to even say anything about these? I could probably eat 20 of their cutout cookies in one sitting and their chocolate caramel brownie is one of my favorite things on the planet. Other favorites include the Cocoa Sugar cookie, Mocha Latte cookie, and the Salty Caramel cookie.

3. Books. I also probably have too many of these, but reading will forever be a favorite pastime of mine. I grew up having a mother who was an English teacher, so naturally it has always been a big part of my life. When I’m reading I can completely transport myself into the world of the book, and that is a powerful wonderful thing. My favorite authors are Sarah Dessen (check out my book review of Saint Anything here), Kiera Cass, Jenny Han, and Rainbow Rowell.

4. Nancy Drew Her Interactive games. Okay, this is the only thing in my life I can be a total nerd about; and I love it. I have been playing these computer games for as long as I can remember (and I have played all 32, thank you very much).  I have grown up with Nancy Drew, and she has grown up with me! I also really love reading the classic Nancy Drew books, but playing each new computer game as they have come out has always been a big deal. In the game you get to play as Nancy Drew and help her solve mysteries in fun locations. My favorite games are Warnings at Waverly Academy, The Captive Curse, The Haunting of Castle Malloy, The White Wolf of Icicle Creek, and Danger by Design.  So if you’re looking for something to do this summer that’s a little different, check out these games! I promise you won’t be disappointed. You can check out all the games here.

5. Candles. I am a self-proclaimed candle hoarder. Up at school we can’t have candles in the apartment or dorms so any time I’m home (like now during the summer) I almost always have a candle lit in my room.  The two candles pictured above are both from Target: Bamboo Jasmine and Sweet Sangria. They both smell so good and also make for fab decor.  I also adore Bath and Body Works candles, especially when it gets closer to fall and winter—they have the best scents! My favorites from Bath and Body Works are Fresh Balsam, Winter, Honeysuckle Bouquet, and Cinnamon Sugared Doughnut.

What are your guilty pleasures?!

Friday Five: Gladiator Sandals

Happy Friday! Gladiators are my new favorite sandals for summer and I’m starting to see them everywhere! I love this pair I just recently got from Zara that I wore in yesterday’s blog outfit. The nude color is great because I’ll be able to wear them with everything.

1.Zara: This is a great strappy leather pair of gladiators. I love that they are up-to-the-knee and that they’re real leather. Great versatile pair!

2. Free People: These sandals from Nordstrom don’t go all the way up to the knee and come in three different colors. They’re also a really good price!

3. Mango: These are at an amazing price right now, and they come in black and a grey snakeskin pattern. These thin strapped sandals are good if you’re looking for a gladiator that isn’t too “bold.”

4. ModCloth: The Olympus Gold Metal Sandal has a really lovely gold detail right down the front of the sandal. These simple sandals go up to the knee, and I’m sure you’ll feel like a Greek goddess wearing them!

5. Stuart Weitzman: These are pricy, but I must say the Sparta Sandal is gorgeous. My personal favorite is the gold, but they also come in black and brown.

Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend!
